Is your faith fading away?

Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth (Luke 18:7-9)? This is a powerful statement by Jesus and this statement points toward the present time that we are living in. Is it because Jesus could foresee the time frame that we are living in. Verse 9 said, “which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others”. The desire of the people in their love towards technology and entertainment is replacing the desire and love towards our Lord. Yet, they will proclaim that they are righteous and going to Church is outdated or they can stay at home and watch Church Service on television. But if a Believer is dedicated to the House of God and their desire is to be among the Congregation of Believers in worshiping God then they will despise you and treat you as a fool for your devotion toward Jesus.

During the early Church age, the apostles and followers did not have the technology that we have today. They relied on their faith in Jesus Christ. They did not have hospitals to run to for medical treatment. They did not have computers and the internet or phones to communicate with. They could not get their sermons from the internet, instead they relied upon the Spirit of God to give them the words to preach to the people. They lived by faith and they placed their hope and trust only in the Lord Jesus Christ. They were so strong in their belief and faith in Jesus that they refused to deny Jesus and chose death at the hands of evil men. The statement by Jude is so true but technology, entertainment and the social society is deceiving people and even too many Christians are letting their faith to fade away. Jude 3, “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints”.

Even among those who call themselves Christians there is the doubt about the return of Jesus and even the Plan of Salvation. But it is written in 2nd Peter 3:3-4, “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation”. Scoffers are not just non-believers but there are a lot of Christians who are scoffers. They like to change the meaning of God’s words in order to suit their own life style. They accept sin as none sin and whitewash it and justify it. Some Christian Organizations have justified same sex marriage. Living together outside of marriage is justified. Adultery is overlooked. But these are all the acts of fornication and it is a sin, but these sins are justified by those who have forsaken the “love of the truth”. In forsaking the truth that is in the teaching of Jesus and the apostles then their faith is dead.

Paul said in 2nd Thessalonians 2:10-11, “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie”. 2nd Timothy 4:3-4, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables”.

Too some Christians, faith has become just words or just going through the motion in pretending that they are full of faith in one’s life or even in a Church Service. One should ask their self, what kind of faith did the early Church age believers have? How can we contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints? The first step is returning to that “first love”, the “zeal”, the “joy”, the “Power of God’s Spirit”, the “Blood of the Lamb of God”, the Power in the WORD who is Jesus Christ”. Faith come from hearing the Word of God, reading the Word of God, hearing and seeing what God has done for others. But a person must put their faith in motion, they must trust in the one that they have faith in. They must trust in the name of Jesus Christ and trust in the Spirit of God. The early Church were prayer warriors because in praying we are communicating with the Almighty God. This Spirit is our open line to Heaven and God hears our prayers. We exercise our faith in praying.

Place not your faith in technology and never be surprised at what man will invent. Never become addicted to the world of entertainment or the pleasures of this world. But remember what is written in Daniel 12:4, “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased”. We are living in that day when knowledge is being increased.

This is an article in the Industry Tap by David R. Schilling. “Buckminster Fuller created the “Knowledge Doubling Curve”; he noticed that until 1900 human knowledge doubled approximately every century. By the end of World War II knowledge was doubling every 25 years. Today things are not as simple as different types of knowledge have different rates of growth. For example, nanotechnology knowledge is doubling every two years and clinical knowledge every 18 months. But on average human knowledge is doubling every 13 months. According to IBM, the build out of the “internet of things” will lead to the doubling of knowledge every 12 hours”. To some people its called the “God of Technology”.

False prophets and false teachers will come in many forms and they will teach and proclaim their deceitful doctrine and beliefs. People are being led astray and their faith in Jesus Christ is fading away. All because they are placing their trust and faith in this world. In 2nd Peter 2:1-2, “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.”

Is your faith strong or is it fading away? This is a question that only you can answer.
