Invisible Hand of our Lord

Have you ever climbed up a mountain and your footing slips, or you step on loose rocks and you began to slip backwards? Have you reached up and grabbed a rock and as you pull yourself up the rock gives way and you slip backward? Climbing a mountain is like serving the Lord. Sometimes it feels like every step that we take we fall backwards two steps. Life is full of unexpected events, sorrow and disappointment. But we have a choice and that choice is the Lord Jesus Christ or deny him. Living for Jesus does not mean that we will not face unexpected events, sorrow or disappointment. It means that the invisible hand of Jesus is always there to pick us up, to walk with us and to give us courage in facing the unexpected events in life. Some are large events, and some are small events, but it makes no difference to the size because Jesus is always there. If we will only trust in that “invisible hand from our Lord”.

We are in this world, but we are not of this world. We are in the Kingdom of God. Just as climbing a mountain and you feel your footing beginning to slip, then behold the invisible hand of our Lord. God knows your whereabouts and He knows that this mountain of life is full of danger but that invisible hand is always with you and Jesus will pick you up and place your footing on that Solid Rock of Salvation. You are a child of the Living God and it is written in Psalms 20:6, “Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand”.

If we believe this then we can face all the troubles in life. We can walk through the storms of life and the despair of this world. It is written in Psalms 16:8, “I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved”. If we will only place our faith in Jesus Christ, then we can move the mountains of despair, the mountains of heartaches and climb this mountain of life, holding that invisible hand of our Lord.

Let us fear not the world nor the people of this world for the Lord our God will fight your battles. In Isaiah 41:10-14, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the Lord, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel”. The same is true today and the Saints of God has the same promise. What do we have to fear, the answer is nothing? Nothing, if only we will place all our trust and faith in the one who redeemed us, and his name is the Lord Jesus Christ.

An unsaved person will cherish the things of this world because their body and soul are in the kingdom of Satan. However, when a person is born again then there is a separation. Your body is in this world, but your soul is in the Kingdom of God. Our joy, our life should be about serving the one who redeemed us from the power of Satan and placed us in His kingdom. In Colossians 3:1-2, “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth”.

I wonder what Mount Sinai looked like. How steep was it, how many loose rocks did Moses step on and slip backward? What propelled Moses in his climb to the top of that mountain. Was it because he could see the Glory of God on that mountain top. In climbing a mountain, never look down but always upward and keep your eyes fixed on the glory of reaching the top of that mountain. If you slip and fall, pick yourselves up and reach out for that invisible hand. Keep your eyes on the Glory of God because Jesus is standing there and calling out, “I am with you, keep on climbing”. Moses climbed that mountain and enjoyed a relationship with the Glory of God.

Another man by the name of Caleb went to Joshua and said in Joshua 14:11-12, “As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in. Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said”. It makes no difference if you are young or old because everyone is climbing their own mountain of life’s problems, heartaches and disappointments. Caleb was an old man, but Caleb had the right spirit and obeyed God. Claim your victory and climb that mountain of life with our God.

Fear not in this life nor the enemies of your soul but rejoice in the knowledge that the Lord Jesus Christ is with you and walking with you and no one can separate you from our God. Isaiah 35:3-4, “Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you”. Isaiah 42:6, “I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles”. Isaiah 43:13, “Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?”

Be strong in your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and fear not. Stand strong and proclaim the power of the Gospel of Jesus. No one can separate you nor come between you and Jesus, only you can. Listen not to the world but remember the words of Paul in Romans 8:35-39, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”.

So, when fear and problems of life come against you, then remember Colossians 3:2, “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth”. Turn your thinking and mind upon Jesus and there you will find that “Invisible Hand of our Lord”.
