Knocking on the Churches doors.

Knocking on the door to The Church. Revelation 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me”. Church doors are closed. Believers are too busy with the things in this world. Too much Church is no good, I’ll go once a week. The promise of the return of Jesus is over 2000 years old and now it’s just old news. But I am still a believer and I will remember Jesus when I take that Holy Communion.

We forget sometimes what Jesus said at Passover, “this do in remembrance of me”. What do we remember about Jesus? Is it just the healing that comes from Jesus? Is it just the protection that comes from Jesus? Is it just the blessing that comes from Jesus? Is it just the Blood that he shed for humanity? However, do we remember his words and what he did?

Jesus came preaching the Kingdom of God. He reached out to the lost and those in need. He healed the sick and raised the dead, he fed the multitude, he casted the demons out of lost souls. But Jesus told us to pick up our cross and follow him. If we are carrying our cross which is the shield of our faith, then we must embrace and hold high the Sword of His Words and carry the message to the lost souls. Jesus gave the plan of salvation to mankind and the spreading of the Gospel is in the hands of men and women. Preaching of the Word is very important as Martin Luther said, "The Devil does not mind the written word, but he is put to flight whenever it is preached aloud."

I wonder how many believers really believe what is written in Hebrews 10:23-25, “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching”.

Satan is winning a great victory. He first had the name of Jesus removed from baptism and now he is closing the doors to Churches. He is busy in removing one’s faith in their devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ. How is Satan removing one’s faith? Where does faith come from? Is it not written in Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”. Satan wins by preventing souls from hearing the preaching and the studying of God’s word. Is it not written in John 10:10, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”. Satan is stealing faith from believers who claim to be followers of Jesus by using the world of technology, the social events, the addiction of the relationship to this world. It is working because Church doors are closed. Peter was correct in saying, “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts. And saying, where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation” (2 Peter 3:3-4).

Jesus said in Luke 22:19, ‘And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me’. In remembrance of me, how can we remember what Jesus went through if Christians have no desire to go to Church and worship our God. How many Christians have left their first love. In addressing the first Church in Revelation Jesus said, “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love” (Revelation 2:4). The love of the truth that is only in Jesus is being replaced by the love of this world. In 2 Thessalonians 2:10, “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved”.

Early Christians worshiped in houses, caves, open fields and places in secret. Why? Because Satan with the use of the Romans wanted to destroy this Jesus Name movement. These early Christians gave their life for Jesus because they refused to deny the Lord Jesus Christ. But the day will come when we will worship in secret because the government and this world of false beliefs will turn against the Jesus Name Believers.

What has happened to our first love for Jesus and His Gospel. Church doors are closing. Belief in the Lord Jesus Christ is fading away. Who will stand and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Do we still have the same zeal today that we had when we received the baptism of the Spirit of God? Do we?
