Life is full of unexpected devices, temptations, problems, heartaches, troubles, sorrows and hard decisions that a lot of believers in Jesus will go through. But our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ must be strong and enduring during these times of our trials and temptations in this world. Sometimes a believer will fall or stumble or grow cold in their walk with the Lord. Sometimes a person may misunderstand what another person is saying and they become upset. Sometimes they may feel that no one cares and then their spirit becomes low and when this takes place then the demons who have been stocking you will make their move against your faith and your belief. Before long you will find yourself laying on the byway of life’s pathway.

It leaves an open question and that is why does a believer in Jesus Christ get discouraged? Why do they feel like they are forsaken? Why do they lose their faith in the protection and blessing of our Lord? Why do they give up? Why do they doubt?

Is it because we can hear the words from the pastor or a preacher in their sermons and Bible Study but we cannot reach out and “catch the meaning” of those words and apply the meaning and the words to our life. Is it because we can read the Bible but the words have no meaning or we cannot understand what we are reading. Is it because we have neglected our prayer life when things are going good and only turn to our Lord in sincere pray when trouble surrounds us. There are many reasons but Jesus can pick us up and renew our spirit and our faith and belief.

Whatever is the reason or whatever is the trials, Jesus can redeem you and pick you up. We have read about the story of Lazarus and how after four days Jesus showed up. In John 11:43, “And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth”. Jesus spoke the “WORD” and Lazarus came forth. Why, what kind of power was inside of that body of flesh? Where did his authority come from? How could this body of flesh have such authority and power? The answer is in John 11:25. “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live”. If we believe that Jesus is the “I AM” and the resurrection of life then we should believe that Jesus can pick us up from the pits of despair and heartaches, temptation, worldly habit and devices that this world has to offer because these things can destroy a soul, but Jesus has the Power and Jesus has the Authority to resurrect us form the grave of sin, an a grave of hopelessness and Jesus can pick us up.

Consider the story in Mark 5:1-20, many sermons have been preached about this event, but the question is how did Jesus know about this person who was held in captivity by the demons. I can find no scriptures that said that someone came to Jesus and told him about this soul. So how did Jesus know about him, was it because some mother was praying for her son, maybe a father or a sister or a brother and maybe it was just a friend. Is it possible that this man who was held by the demons was able to draw the strength and his soul cried out to God for help? One thing is sure and that is the cry for help from someone was carried on the wings of the wind to the ears of Jesus and Jesus went to the other side and resurrected this person from the pits of hell and pick him up and clothed him and gave him a new mind. This man who was delivered and restored wanted to be with Jesus but Jesus said, “Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on”. Jesus did tell him to tell no one about what had taken place but Jesus said tell them what the “LORD” has done”. And indeed this man did tell the people what the Lord Jesus Christ had done for him, Luke 8:39-40, “Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him. And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him”. Jesus picked him up and if Jesus can deliver a person as this man than Jesus can deliver you and pick you up for the compassion of Jesus is strong and real.

Why is it that we allow the things of this world to drive us down and fill our minds with trouble and temptations? Have we not read in 1 Peter 1:7-8, “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory”. I think about Job and the trials that Job went through and yet Job stayed true to his God. One will notice that the first things that Satan destroyed was the livestock because Job offered a blood sacrifice to God for himself and his family. Jesus Christ became our “blood sacrifice” on the Cross of Calvary and Satan is doing a good job in placing doubt about the Blood of Jesus. Satan knows that the Blood of Jesus is for the sinners and it is for the Saints of God. When Satan and his demons come against us then we have the Blood of the Lamb of God who is the Holy One, who is the I Am, who is the only image of this great God and Jesus is the WORD made flesh and His Blood is all powerful and can wash your soul and remove your sins and give you a robe that is whiter than snow.

Let the Saints of God and those who fell by the way side be not as wells without water, but let the well of our soul to be filled with the living water that come from God and let the Spirit of God renew our walk and our devotions to our Lord. Let Jesus rid you of your bondage and let Jesus redeem you with a stretched our arm and with great love. Let us cast our burden upon the Lord, and Jesus will sustain us and Jesus will never allow you be moved out of his arms of grace and mercy. Is it not written in Matthew 11:28-30, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light”.

It is easy to look at a Saint or a person who has fell in their walk with the Lord and judge them and yet we refuse to judge ourselves. The apostle Paul said, “Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ”. Is it not written in Ephesians 2:4-7, “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus”. Let us pray for those who have felled by the way side and let us pray for one another and let us spread the Gospel of Jesus to the lost who are held by the chains of Satan and Jesus can and will deliver them and pick them up.

When your soul is at peace then grow strong in Jesus Christ. When the storms of this world come against you then let the arms of Jesus hold you. When people forsake you then let the Love of Jesus comfort you. When Satan and his demons surround you then let the power and the authority that is in the name of Jesus Christ drive the evil from you because Satan and his demons are subject to the name of Jesus and they must obey the authority of the WORD that was made flesh and his name is Jesus.

If you have a problem then let Jesus pick you up. If you have a habit then let Jesus deliver you and pick you up. If you are low in spirit then let Jesus pick you up. Let Jesus become the focus point in your life.

Let us hold on to the faith of the first believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and always plead the blood of Jesus for our love ones and the lost souls and always remember that Jesus will pick you up and set your feet on a strong foundation.

Place you trust in Jesus.
